Monstera are species of evergreen tropical vines and shrubs that are native to Central America. They are famous for their natural leaf holes, which has led to the rise of their nickname ‘Swiss Cheese Plant’.

  • Position: Bright/Indirect sunlight.
  • Water: Water every one to two weeks, allowing soil to dry between watering.
  • Temperature: Thrives in normal room temperature: 18-30°C.
  • Ultimate Height: Around 70-80cm.
  • Pot Size:   11cm.

The reason its leaves have all those holes is because it’s used to growing in jungle shade. The gaps in its leaves allow the available light to reach the lowest foliage. The holes in the leaves develop as the plant grows larger. If you buy the smallest, youngest plant, it may arrive without the signature holes in all its leaves. They'll appear as it matures.
